How to prepare: Fruit salad of watermelon, strawberries and blueberries

Peel the ginger and cut it into small pieces. Put the sugar, the same weight of water and the ginger in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir to dissolve the sugar and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat, flavor the syrup with the zest and juice of a lime and let it cool in the refrigerator.

Cut the watermelon into slices about 1 centimeter thick, remove the seeds and, with a cookie cutter, cut out many stars (you can also use them of different sizes). Arrange them in a large, low bowl. Wash and dry the strawberries and blueberries. Remove the stalks of the strawberries and cut them into wedges. Add the strawberry wedges and the watermelon blueberries, stirring gently so as not to ruin the watermelon stars.

Filter the syrup and pour it over the fruit salad. Let it rest in the fridge for at least a couple of hours to get the flavor and serve it cold decorated with lime slices.
