THE hazelnut cream sandwiches are sweet and delicious candies: a soft dough made from flour, milk, powdered brewer’s yeast and melted butter and stuffed with delicious hazelnut cream. In our recipe, we formed the sandwiches inside a skimmer, in order to give the candies an original shape in a very simple way. Once ready, you can serve the sandwiches with hazelnut cream for the breakfast or the nibble: they will appeal to young and old. Here are all the steps to achieve them.
How to make sweet buns with hazelnut cream
Mix the hot milk with the melted butter, brewer’s yeast and sugar (1) and mix. Gradually add the flour (2) and knead well until the mixture is tender (3). Cover with a cloth and let rise for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 6 dough pieces (4) from which to obtain balls. Spread them on the skimmer and pour the hazelnut cream in the center (5). Close the dough, so as to form your sandwiches (6).
Transfer them to the baking sheet lined with parchment paper (7). Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for 20 minutes. Brush the beaten egg (8) and place a dab in the center of each sandwich. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 20 minutes. Once ready, let them cool and decorate with icing sugar. Your hazelnut cream sandwiches are ready to eat (9).
