Chicken strips are a light and quick second course to prepare, even for those who don’t have much cooking experience. The ingredients necessary for the realization of the recipe are few and cheap, it is in fact a second course of meat suitable for all budgets. Chicken is a wonderful ingredient that lends itself to many preparations. We propose the recipe of chicken strips shaded in white wine, but after preparation you will find other succulent variations, such as chicken strips with lemon or curry, which can also be prepared with a side of vegetables such as zucchini, asparagus, mushrooms or peppers.

We make this quick and easy second dish based on chicken breast in a pan, but you can bake the straccetti in the oven if you prefer. Instead of passing them in flour, bread them with breadcrumbs, place them in a pan with parchment paper, sprinkle with oil and bake at 190 degrees for about 15/20 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. But now let’s see what is the secret to making soft chicken strips with a thick and tasty sauce.


  • chicken breast 600 gr
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Flour 200 gr
  • extravirgin olive oil 4 tbsp
  • White wine 100 ml
  • pepper to taste
  • parsley 1 tuft
  • salt 1 Teaspoon


  1. Let’s start with the cleaning and subsequent cutting of the chicken breast. Place it on a cutting board to clean it and remove any visible bones, cartilage and pieces of fat with a sharp knife. Once clean: cut it first into slices about one centimeter high and then into strips about 3 centimeters long.

  2. Put the flour in a bowl with high sides. Pour the chicken into the bowl, taking care to flour it well on each side. Beat the strips to remove the excess flour.

  3. In a pan large enough to contain your chicken strips, pour the oil, add the clove of garlic and turn on medium-low heat. Brown the strips in a pan for a few minutes.

  4. Pour in the white wine and let it evaporate. Cook for about ten minutes. The chicken must be well cooked and a tasty sauce must form. Remove the garlic, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with chopped parsley.

  5. Serve hot accompanied with a nice crunchy salad.

There are many easy recipes with chicken that we can bring to the table every day and as we mentioned at the beginning, we also see the recipe for making lemon chicken strips where the flour and citrus make a tasty but delicate cream, just like that of scallops with lemon. What you need, in addition to 600 grams of chicken breast cut into strips, are two lemons and 2 teaspoons of fresh grated ginger. Follow the main recipe regarding the preparation of lemon strips. Grate the zest of the lemons and squeeze them by filtering the juice. Brown the strips with thyme in a pan with the oil. Pour in the lemon juice, ginger, grated lemon peel, salt and pepper. To perfume the dish you can sprinkle everything with black pepper. This variant is excellent accompanied with asparagus.

If you are a lover of exotic flavors, you can vary the recipe by proposing chicken strips with curry. For a very easy variant, all you have to do is add two teaspoons of your favorite curry (sweet or spicy) in a pan after having blended with the white wine. If, on the other hand, you want to try your hand at a more elaborate recipe, then make the chicken breast with curry. Just follow the recipe step by step, taking care, however, to cut your breast into thin strips to have strips instead of chicken nuggets. This variant goes well with vegetables such as courgettes, dried mushrooms, porcini or champignons and even peppers.
