Can we reuse cedar planks to grill salmon?
Yes, but we do not recommend it. Technically, if the grilling board is still in good condition after the first use, it can be used again. Keep in mind that it will take on the flavor of whatever you grill on it and some of the essential oils from the wood will be used from the first round of cooking.
Do you cook the salmon over high or low heat?
To get that delicious skin, be sure to cook your salmon skin side down on the stove over medium to medium-high heat. Also make sure the fish is patted dry and comes to room temperature before placing it in the pan, both of which will help the skin get super crispy.
How long should salmon stay on the grill?
Salmon cooks quickly on the grill (usually no more than 12 minutes in total), so don’t walk away or get distracted. The salmon will be medium-rare when an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest portion registers 120 degrees F. Let stand for a few minutes before serving to allow for some cooking.
