The history of the cocktail is however uncertain, if traces of it remain in the recipe book of Jacques Staub from 1913 and in that of Robert vermeire from 1922, but according to some it was created by Harry craddock, who placed it in his manual in the 1930, however, it seems certain that he was born in England. Here’s how to prepare it.
How to prepare the Paradis cocktail
Squeeze the orange with the juicer (1) and strain the juice. Freeze a bowl with 2-3 ice cubes. Put the gin, apricot brandy, orange juice and some ice cubes in the shaker (2). Shake the shaker vigorously, remove the ice cubes from the cup and pour the drink, straining it through the colander. Garnish with an orange zest, if you prefer, or serve without garnish (3).
You can replace orange juice with apricot juice, which will give a sweeter taste to the drink.
If you like the sweetness of apricot brandy, try Zombie Cocktail, an exotic drink with a sweet taste. If, on the other hand, you like cocktails made with gin, prepare the Gimlet cocktail as well.
A variation of the Paradise cocktail is the Ferri’s paradise, which is prepared with the same ingredients, but with the addition of filtered lemon juice.
