How to prepare: Grilled tomatoes


To prepare the grilled tomatoes, first devote yourself to the sauce: chop the finely peeled garlic clove and collect it in a small bowl with the mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, pepper. Add olive oil slowly and emulsify. When you have obtained a velvety and not too thick sauce, cover it with cling film and place in the refrigerator for the entire duration of the recipe.


Slice the tomatoes into slices of about 4 mm and collect them in a single layer on a plate or pan. Season them with oil, salt and pepper.


Very well heat a cast iron plate sprinkled with a few drops of oil. Add the tomatoes and let them grill for 6-7 minutes on 1 side only. Remove them with a spatula and arrange them on a plate. Also on the plate, grill the slices of bread until they become golden. Season the dish with the prepared sauce and serve the grilled tomatoes with a few leaves of fresh basil.
