How to prepare: Old Fashioned
To prepare the Old Fashioned, place the sugar cube, the equivalent of two teaspoons, inside the Mixing glass. Pour two drops of angostura over it.
Then add a drop of plain water or a splash of soda. Stir with a bar spoon until the sugar is completely dissolved in the water. Particularly suitable is the muddler bar spoon which ends flat: on the head of the spoon there is a small pestle which is ideal for pressing the sugar lumps used in cocktails such as Old Fashioned.
When you have completely dissolved the sugar, add ice cubes with the help of tongs.
Add the ice up to half of the mixing glass and mix again.
Then pour your favorite whiskey: every palate has its own. Then proceed with adding more ice until filling.
Mix everything, moving the bar spoon back and forth. In a glass, already frozen for a few minutes previously, now place some ice cubes.
Filter the cocktail with the help of a strainer directly into the glass and add more ice, which melts quickly.
Squeeze a slice of orange peel to release the oils into the glass.
Pass the zest on the edge of the glass to spread the citrus scent. Complete the cocktail by decorating it with an orange peel and a maraschino cherry.
